Happy Earth Day! The older and wiser (obvious and debatable, respectively) I get the more that nature and our lovely planet intrigues me. Without getting too in depth, do you realize how astronomical the numbers are that we even exist? Earth is without a doubt the most beautiful planet in our solar system; it boggles my mind quite often.

Beyond marketing, business and the way we govern ourselves, existence as we know it here is truly a phenomenon. Our planet is a wondrous thing and we need to make sure we take care of it for future generations.

Anyway, I hope you all celebrated in style. Spend some time outside and enjoy your surroundings. I personally took a walk at lunch and rode around the big lakes in Uptown. (If you aren’t from here, Minneapolis is an amazing city with a ridiculous amount of places outside to go and fun things to do.)

And since we are on the topic, I’m currently reading through a favorite author’s works. I’d recommend Ralph Waldo to those who like heavy lifting with their prose. I’ve gotten through about 1/3 of Essays & Poems.

If you’ve never read any of his stuff (or similar early American authors like Thoreau or Longfellow) I’d recommend some snippets to begin and where better than Nature in honor of today.
