General Mills

Filed under: Meeting Marketers — Robert John Ed @ 1:22 pm

I went to a presentation from General Mills last night.  The speaker was extremely polished and a great representative for the company.  I would have liked to have spoken with a representative or two about the opportunities for younger marketers, but it was extremely crowded and I had to catch the bus.

What sticks out to me about this particular company are the brands.  Their has to be 30-40 flagships in their fleet.  CPG companies offer us marketers the most ability to flex our muscle, as well as the most responsibility, which is what I’m after.  Almost anyone at this stage and their career should want to work with brands like this.  General Mills, probably as much as any other company , is filled with talented people and a portfolio of brands that any marketer would love to be a part of.  I’ll certainly be attempting to pursue an internship with them this summer.  I have to do some research with people that have worked their as well as a lot of industry and background research, but this looks promising.
